Want to move more than just your toes in the sand? Peanut Island is packed with action — from kayaking the shoreline to casting a fishing line or camping overnight under the stars.
🚣 Paddle the Perimeter
Kayaking or paddleboarding around the island takes about 45 minutes. Stay near the shore, especially on weekends, and keep your eyes peeled for manatees in the grass flats.
Quick tips:
Launch from Riviera Marina or Phil Foster Park
Best paddling on the west and north sides
Use polarized sunglasses to spot marine life
🎣 Fish the Edge
Bring your rod and fish from designated seawalls or docks on the north and east sides.
Need to know:
No fishing near swim zones or docks
You’ll need a Florida saltwater fishing license
Common catches include snapper, jacks, and sheepshead
