What to Pack for Peanut Island Camping: Essential Tips & Ferry Info

Camping on an island? That means planning your route, packing smart, and knowing the ferry rules.


🚤 How to Get There


Campers must use the Peanut Island Shuttle from Riviera Beach Marina. Other ferries (like Sailfish Marina) don’t allow camping gear.

Camper Ferry Info:

  • Arrive: 11 AM – 2 PM only

  • Depart: By 11 AM the next day

  • Fares:

    • $30/adult, $15/child (round trip)

    • Extra items: $10 per bag beyond the limit

    • Need to leave and return? Get an Off-Island Pass for $12


📞 Reservations are required 24 hours in advance, and you’ll need your campground confirmation to board.


🎒 What to Pack (and What Not to)


✅ Bring:

  • Drinking water, all food/drinks

  • Tent, sleeping gear, lighting

  • Trash bags — there are no trash bins

  • Bug spray, sunscreen, rain protection

  • Cash or card for ferry, firewood, rentals

❌ Don’t Bring:

  • Glass bottles (alcohol allowed only at your site)

  • A grill or fire pit — it’s already included

  • Vending expectations — there are no stores on the island

💡 Rental Tip: You can rent tents, charcoal, ice, and supplies through the Peanut Island Shuttle. Tent rentals are $65/night.
